Structure & Content

Classes are delivered in small groups (maximum 17 students) to ensure personalised attention and meaningful interaction. You’ll progress through the course with regular, targeted feedback from highly qualified teachers. Your learning concludes with the Holmes Language Assessment, providing a formal measure of your English achievement.

Programme Details

The course applies a communicative approach to English learning through real-world tasks that develop practical language skills. It prepares learners to communicate effectively and understand academic and workplace information through reading, research, lectures, and seminars.

This course aims to develop proficiency in written and spoken English to an overall CEFR B2+ level. It also strengthens learners’ ability to understand written and spoken English in academic, professional, and everyday contexts. Alongside language development, the course builds essential study skills and an understanding of academic conventions, including academic integrity, to prepare learners for further study.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Deliver clear, detailed descriptions and presentations in English across a wide range of topics.
  • Understand standard spoken English, whether live or recorded, on familiar and unfamiliar subjects encountered in personal, academic, or vocational contexts.
  • Read independently, adapting reading strategies and speed to different texts and purposes.
  • Write clear, well-structured texts that synthesise and evaluate information from multiple sources.
  • Use English fluently, accurately, and effectively across general, academic, vocational, and leisure settings.
  • Apply effective study skills, including presentation and discussion, note-taking, reading and research, referencing, and academic writing.
  • Demonstrate awareness of academic integrity and understand its importance in a study context.

Our Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business degree leads to employment in any number of business, management or administration-related roles.

The programme is also designed to lead to further study in cognate areas. This programme has been specifically designed to ensure graduates will be equipped with the relevant skills and competencies sought by employers today.

The digital focus prepares students for the new digital workplace and introduces the key technical innovations in modern business. The emphasis on using software applications as business tools opens the door to further learning and research and also prepares students for specialised programmes at postgraduate level.
